Take Care of Your Eyes With Lutein

Studies reveal that Lutein prevents blindness by guarding the eyes from AMD or age-related macular degeneration. It also decreases the risk of cataracts.

Lutein is a pigment that helps protect the eyes. It can be found in the areas of the retina’s light receptor- particularly in the macula where the most possible damage of blue light can occur.
Blue light is the wave length within the visible spectrum of light. It is present in varying degrees or intensity in all visible light sources. When the eyes are exposed for too much blue light, a chemical reaction takes place in the eye’s retina.

With this Lutein works in two ways- it acts as a filter against the harmful blue light and combats the free radical in the eye as an anti-oxidant. Excessive exposure to blue light can lead to formation of free radicals which can harm the eyes. Lutein prevents these radicals from storing and from causing irreversible damage to the eyes.

Eating Peanuts Can Be Healthy

Some people regard peanut as unhealthy. On the contrary, not only this legume can be a cheap source of energy, a peanut can be a good guardian against heart disease and cancer.

Same with those having allergies with peanuts, people who have arthritis should also shun these from their diet. As a legume- high in uric acid, peanut no doubt can worsen their condition. However for most ordinary people, not having the problems mentioned, worries about eating peanuts is not necessary. That is, as long as we take them in moderation.

Peanut isn’t a bad news. Research shows that nuts (peanuts are included in the nut class although technically a legume) are good source of essential nutrients and may be useful in improving the cardiovascular health, preventing cancer.

Diet For a Slimmer Body: Is It Good For You?

As obesity has its dangers, individuals with this condition are advised to have a diet program for weight loss. Unfortunately, some people can be conscious with their figure. Even if they really don’t need to go on a diet, they would eat less and more alarmingly, would try on diet plans that can be hazardous for them.

In 2011, a 19 year old Thai girl died because of diet pills side effect. As it turned out, she suffered from heart failure. This girl, Natthiyaphorn Udomkantrong was going on a diet simply because she wants to look good for the uniform of her new school. Her original weight was 65 kg. She took the diet pills for two months and lost 20 kg within that period. Unfortunately, the pills’ undesirable effect caught onto her.

The issue here: Was the girl’s reason to fit on some dress important for such diet? People may react it’s a complete nonsense; others may cite that diet pills are dangerous, or the girl’s death was a case of misuse and misinformation; and still, some individuals may comment that it was her own decision and no one should judge her.

However, people especially those who needed no diet should understand the consequences of undergoing a weight loss regimen.
